Gerhard has been involved with property related matters throughout his career. He worked for and headed the property sections in the government service covering residential letting, commercial properties, capital works, land affairs and town planning. He served in the parliamentary division for more than 5 years in an advisory capacity with Local Government, Housing and Works. His academic studies include Public Administration with communication, law, economics and industrial psychology.
He worked for Sanlam in the product development and promotion section for ten years and was a project manager. He did many sales and management courses and is Dale Carnegie certified.
He is a qualified and experienced system’s engineer with Microsoft and Novell and worked on many projects including property websites and systems engineering/architectures/networks with Turnkey Solutions , Time Quantum, T-Systems and Intersite. Gerhard is also a certified e-commerce web developer and did project management at UCT through the continued engineering education programme. He also completed the IT Leadership certification through Analytix at UP and completed the strategic planning certification of competence in creating a performance culture using the balanced score card.
He has also owned a fully fledged licensed restaurant and take out business.
Gerhard has built many houses for himself and has undertaken many smaller renovation projects successfully.

- 2010: Serves as a trustee on two body corporates (Big Bay Beach Club and Chamarel)
- 2009: NQF4: Certificate in Real Estate

- 2003: EAAB: Certificate in Estate Agency
- Worked for Homenet, Leapfrog and
REMAX
- 2008/9: Involvement in a Blouberg beach front development proposal which was aborted due to the global economic melt down
- Has successfully concluded sales in
Cape Town and Kempton Park
His passion with property is to negotiate and structure deals to increase net profit for the seller and reduce the costs of ownership for buyers and add value through partnerships.
